Solid timber pet urn – Portrait Style
This quality solid timber pet urn is designed in portrait style to sit vertically when on display. This urn suits all household, typically up to 50kg in live weight. The solid timber urn has a hinged door with a plated brass catch. It will display a standard 7″ x 5″ (18 x 13cm) photograph. Each piece of timber will have a unique colouring thanks to the well-defined grain of the selected timber. Our urns are finished to a satin look achieved by sanding to an ultra-fine finish and burnishing with selected natural oils and waxes.
The timber selection covers a range of colours from the chocolate brown of Walnut, the honey red and gold finish of Cherry through to the golden brown of Blackbutt or Oak. Each timber has a unique grain pattern and no two items will be the same. Our quality workmanship means that the carcass of the urn is made from a single piece of timber – with continuous grain patterns around the outside of the urn. A quality feature we use as standard in your Australian made product. Our workshop is here in the Perth hills of WA.
Please note that our urns are made from solid hardwood on the frame and carcass sides. We use 3-ply timber for the base, stained to match the solid timber. This ensures that seasonal wood movement is kept to a minimum and will not affect your urn. We supply your urn with surface mounted hinges as standard. These are beautifully designed, attractive butterfly style hinges well suited to this task. If you prefer to have highest quality Australian manufactured brass hinges then select “rebated” hinges as your selection. They are recessed into the timber to offer a reduced footprint to the overall urn.
This quality product will last a generation or more and only requires some wax furniture polish rubbed on every three to six months. The timbers we use are typically medium density hardwoods. These timbers are expected to last many years and will always look the part in your home. The timber has a good natural resistance to decay and will not warp or split unlike many foreign imported mdf veneered timber products seen on market sites. Do not pay for compressed and glued sawdust (medium density fibreboard) with a thin timber veneer to make it look authentic.
Our quality solid timber pet urn will keep your memories alive forever.
